What we have planned so far:
Special guests are Mimi Pond, Whit Taylor, Anna Haifisch, Rina Ayuyang, Olivier Schrauwen, Carol Tyler, Antoine Maillard, and Dash grant winner November Garcia.
Creative programming will include a small press lit & poetry showcase presented by Gramma Books, a reading circle for kids with award-winning children’s book author Jessixa Bagley and partner Aaron Bagley; a comics workshop for kids with cartoonist and well-loved teacher David Lasky, all-day animation with Seattle Experimental Animation Team (SEAT) curated by Clyde Petersen, portfolio reviews for aspiring sequential art students by Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) and California College of the Arts (CCA), Teen Zine table with Henry Teen Art Collective and foundry10, live screen printing with Fogland Studios, art show at Vera Gallery featuring Chicago artist Jarad Solomon, plus interviews and artist talks with our special guests and more to yet be planned!
Events before & after the festival
On Thursday, Nov. 1 there will be an art opening with Tara Booth at Mount Analogue and book release at Cold Cube Press (in same building). Friday, Nov. 2nd is our Marathon art show and fest reception at Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery featuring art from special guests & others. This is always a fun night to mingle before the festival. Then Saturday, Nov. 3rd is the fest from 11 am- 6 pm, with after-party to follow at The Vera Project from 8 pm-11 pm with DJ, photo booth, and bar. Sunday, Nov. 4th will be Mimi Pond and Rina Ayuyang in conversation at the Seattle Public Library (Downtown) from 1 pm- 3 pm, which is sure to be hilarious.
